After resting from our drive back to Houston we were super excited (Ben was soooo excited!) to go to Minute Maid Park for the season opening game of the Houston Astros. This was my second MLB game and Ben's first....needless to say I enjoyed this one way more than my first one. We walked around the "opening game" street carnival; watched the Budweiser clydesdales pull a wagon to the stadium;ate hot dogs and ice cream from mini Astro caps; country music singer Clay Walker sang the national anthem and Take Me Out to the Ballgame; watched the trainload of oranges move twice down the elevated tracks in celebration of home runs and enjoyed fireworks at the end of the game. It was most definitely a good time!
This was the perfect ending to a perfect trip to Texas! (Just the Texas part was over...we still have New Orleans to go!) Thank you, Mimi and Papa Fred for a wonderful trip that we will never forget!
