Great Spring Break Road Trip 2012 - Day 4

Our Wednesday was rainy and dreary and some of our plans were curtailed as a result.  We started our day by driving to Clear Lake and visiting Johnson Space Center.  It was truly amazing...especially the video on the Space Shuttle and its 30 year reign.  Unfortunately, we didn't get to do the tram tour because of weather.   Of course that means we have a reason to go back!

From NASA we drove to Galveston for lunch at Gaido's....fantastic seafood!!!  Again it was raining so we did a drive through tour of the beautiful homes in the Victorian Historic District, the quaint downtown and the  Galveston Tree Sculptures.  After the last devastating hurricane, Galveston re-purposed damaged trees by making them into amazing sculptures that are in town areas, home yards and B and Bs.

We returned to Houston and after a stop at Academy to pick up Astro gear for Friday night's game, it was home to rest and then a late run to Whataburger.  And, the name fits...what a burger!!
