Ben and I have been super excited about our BIG trip for spring break and had everything planned and mapped out very carefully. Well, we all know what they say about the best laid plans....on Saturday night when I left Pam's event I had a flat tire. As it goes instead of leaving home at 6 a.m. as planned, we pulled out of Columbia at 3 p.m.
Day 1: we drove and drove and drove. We stopped for dinner at Wendy's in Newnan, GA, and twice in Alabama for a potty break and gas. We arrived at our hotel in Gulfport, MS at midnight, checked in and went straight to bed.
Day 2: we slept in because we were so tired from Day 1. After a quick stop to see the Gulf we headed into Louisiana where we stopped for lunch at Krystal. We crossed Louisiana in a terrible rain storm, stopped twice as we crossed into Texas (once at the visitor's center and once for gas before reaching Houston). After a snafu with the GPS (resulting in a 30 minute detour around Houston) we arrived at my in-laws at 7:00. After unloading the car and saying hello we all headed to Molina's for Mexican...yum! We watched the NCAA Championship, or at least everyone else did. I was in bed at half time and ready for a good night's sleep!
