......And Jimmy Buffett was in town!!
Tuesday night our much awaited Jimmy Buffett concert night arrived and it was an experience! I have always heard that Parrotheads are a unique group, but I was not prepared for just how unique and fun. We saw pirates, parrots, sharks, and so much more. I honestly cannot describe it all here --- it is one of those things that you just have to experience! I met one group (who I paid $4 to use their tent port-o-potty because the line for the real ones were wrapped around the parking lot --- I had waited thinking the lines would go down, but the lack of real port-o-potties meant the lines NEVER went down and this was an emergency worth all 4 dollars!) who had been to 73 Buffett concerts. They were true experts (hence, a tent port-o-potty!) me, April and Andrea
Garbed in grass skirts and leis, we parked early and waited for some friends of Glenn's to arrive from Augusta. When they arrived we packed up our chicken and chips and headed their way. Over there, they tried to light their tiki torches but those caught fire, and boiled shrimp...YUM, and watched all the people. (Which was as entertaining, maybe more so than the concert itself.)

It was 5 O'clock in Columbia with the "parrots"! We put aside shrimp to run over and get our pics made!
"smell those shrimp beginning to boil"
one of the sights of the day!

Finally, it was time for BUFFETT!!! We heard all of his greats --- Changes in Attitudes, Son of a Son of a Sailor, Cheeseburger in Paradise, Come Monday, 5 O'Clock Somewhere, and of course Margaritaville and Fins!!! He also performed Brown Eyed Girl and Southern Cross....awesome!! We left during Coast of Carolina, his first encore in order to beat traffic, but it was probably the best concert I've ever been to. Jimmy Buffett is awesome on CD, the radio, but it was slightly surreal to hear him sing his stories in person. Can't wait til the next time!
