Recently Belinda and I met to grab a bite to eat at Cantina 76. It just so happened that Make a Wish was hosting a fundraiser with Coach Ray Tanner and the championship trophies as the draw. After we ate, we stopped by to chat with him for a few moments and get a photo snapped. He was the nicest guy! USC should be very proud to have him as a part of the athletic staff.

Red Socks Baseball Week 2

After a week off due to rain, Ben's team picked back up this past week. They were able to play on Monday and Wednesday. On Monday I stayed for the first couple of innings before leaving for the monthly United Methodist Woman meeting. Glenn stayed for the whole game. On Wednesday, Glenn and I both attended, as well as our friend Ruben. Ben was so excited to have a cheering section!Monday, September 27, 2010
Ben and Baseball
Ben wanted to try baseball and since one of the guys who works for Glenn is involved with Palmetto Baseball League, we decided to give it a try. He absolutely LOVES it. And, for his first try at the sport, he's doing pretty good. He's working on his catching and he makes contact with the ball at bat. I was concerned he wouldn't like it, but no worries there. He loves it and looks so forward to game days! His team is the "Red Sox" this season.

NCAA Regionals 2010
The weekend was really wonderful at the five baseball games (six but I missed one) that we went to for the Regionals. The Gamecocks came out on top and won (they have moved onto the Super Regionals and will play Coastal Carolina next weekend in Myrtle Beach). We saw Carolina play 3 times, VA Tech, The Citadel and Bucknell. Good time!!!
I took soooo many pictures, but these4 were my favorites:

Where Have I Been The Last 3 Days?!?
That would be here......

.....Carolina Stadium for the Regional games. I made it through five games (I had to miss the first one because it was 2 p.m. on the last day of school), three thunderstorm evacuations, temps in the 90s, half a dozen bottles of water, no foul ball injuries (we were sitting on the front row along the first base line), and about 100 pictures (which I will be posting when I rest and get them loaded)!! Best of all -- the Gamecocks won and I rediscovered that I LOVE baseball!!
See you at the SUPERS!!!
