Last week we did our engagement photos with a great photographer, Ashleigh Turner, that I was put in touch with through my friend, Jan. She suggested since we are big Gamecock fans and met tailgating that we try to do them at Williams-Brice. Well, she worked her magic!!! And, on Thursday afternoon (after meeting with the bakery about a cake for our Columbia reception) we found ourselves meeting her and going through security (yes, they have stadium security on weekdays, not just game days!) at Williams-Brice Gate 11....we came into the stadium where the players come in and came onto the field through the "tunnel". It was an exciting, fun, surreal experience. I can't even begin to describe the feeling of coming through that tunnel and seeing the huge (albeit empty) stadium surrounding us. I'm sure on gameday with 80,000 people yelling and the music and the energy it really is an intimidating moment.
We took Ben with us because we wanted him to be included in some of the photos as well. He and Glenn were ecstatic that they were able to throw the football on the field where the Gameocks play. While we did our pictures, Ben ran around the stadium, up in the stands and NEVER quit smiling! It was a day he (us as well!) will remember for a long time to come.
From the stadium we headed to the backgate of Carolina Walk Park (where we met) to take a few pictures there and then on to our church for a few more pictures in the courtyard. All of the pictures came out beautifully. I don't have them to post on here, but if you would like to see all of them, send me a comment with your email and I will be more than happy to share them with you through Ashley's share link! I think they are worth looking at! :)
