Shijiazhuang Day 3

Our second day found my students learning about Columbia, South Carolina, adjectives and families.  We made family trees and Doreen "won" a poster of Columbia! (Courtesy of Brian Dressler Photography)

After school four of us ladies and one of the guys walked across the street to a tea house.  The very sweet young girls used the phone to translate and help as we participated in a tea ceremony.  It was very beautiful.  I ended up buying a tea "pat" shaped like a rooster, a big box of green tea and a tea pot.  We walked through an outdoor market and then had dinner at a little restaurant.  For $1.53 each (there were 5 of us so about $8 total) we were served a dozen dumplings, a dozen wontons, two huge bowls of soup and a very large plate of noodles.  Unreal!!

Another trip to the bakery for a dessert (and breakfast) and a stop to a stationary store then it was back to our rooms for the evening!
