Day 3 - Rouen and Caen

On Saturday morning we left Paris and headed towards Normandy.  Our first stop was in Rouen.  We toured the cathedral, the town, had lunch, shopped and saw the location Joan of Arc was burned at the stake.

 

The next stop was in the country!  We visited a cheese factory in Livarot.  It was, well, stinky!

 

 

After checking into our hotel we were headed downtown Caen for dinner and being that it was June 21, it was Fetes de la Musique (historically known as Fetes de John the Baptiste).  The streets were filled with bands, djs, drummers, dancers, and people.  It was a definite highlight of the trip!
