Happy Fourth of July!

Nothing says July 4th like "House Hunters International"!! And, that is exactly how we started (and spent our afternoon siesta) this year on July 4th.  We love this show and honestly, if we hadn't already had celebration plans, we would probably spent the day on the couch watching.

But, we had plans.  So, after a few episodes and lunch we headed over to Maison's to meet Glenn's dad and Belinda for the Salute from the Shore, a flyover by F-16s that cover the entire length of the South
Carolina coast.  Following the flyover and the WW II bomber piloted by a SC veteran, Ben spent the afternoon in the pool and we enjoyed the music on the patio.

After a rest and shower, it was back to Maison's for a 4th themed dinner (fried chicken, bbq, corn on the cob, baked beans, cole slaw, watermelon and brownies...yummmm!), another band on the patio, soccer with other kids for Ben and the ultimate July 4th finale.....a gazillion fireworks over the beach.  An added bonus this year was watching the beautiful, huge, full orange moon rise out over the Atlantic.

It is never ideal to have Independence Day midweek, but it was still an all around good day!  And, a huge thank you to all of our past, present and future military personnel!
