For the first time since I've lived in Columbia it was actually nice on St. Patrick's Day celebration day! Last year we had people over and never even went to the event in 5 Points because of rain; the year before I went to 5 Points for the festival, BUT it came up a TORNADO while I was there. This year we invited people over again for our 2nd annual pre-St. Pat's to eat (my special meatballs, cheese and crackers, green cupcakes, pigs in blankets, chicken salad, chips and dip and jalapano poppers....YUM) and hang out before the festivities began. Since the weather was beautiful ( a little cool...I had to change into a long sleeved shirt before we left) we actually headed down for a little while. (Okay, only an hour or so....we've learned we are getting way too old for big, crazy crowds.) The sights were great as you will see from some of the pictures. I love the "dress up" aspect of this festival. (And, yes, I got into it this year with my green glasses, beads, boa and tiara!!!) It was a happy 2nd annual St. Patrick's Day!

We normally go to Shamrock on the Square in Spartanburg, but there has been no mention of having it this year :( I'm glad you had fun!
